This modified Saginaw power steering gearbox has an extended sector shaft – a common setup found in many off-road race cars. It is available in an 808 (inside the frame mount) or a 708 (outside the frame mount) which is most popular.
This steering gearbox is built to full race specs. All high performance porting is done to both the valve and the housing. Ram assist ports are added (choose location), a third sector shaft bearing is added as well as our billet top cover with needle bearing and a billet end cap is installed.
Our 6:1 version utilizes an in house made ACME ball screw and piston insert. Unlike our competitors, Lee Power Steering does not anneal the piston before machining to add the ACME thread insert. This makes for a much longer lasting gearbox that won’t get loose after one season of racing.
